Understanding

Relationships are about understanding. Understanding the art of communication in a constructive manner. Do we listen? Or do we preach? There is a fine line between the two. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of adjustment on all sides to get along and truly grow. Patience is important. Providing a safe space is important where we can feel safe to speak without feeling threaten. What do you think?

  1. In order to be effective communicators, we have to listen to the ideas of others. We are often great talkers but struggle more with listening. We often "hear" but don't "listen". Sometimes listening involves connecting with the beliefs and ideas of another person and sometimes those beliefs and ideas do not "gel" with our own beliefs and ideas. We do not have to agree with someone else's thoughts but we do have to honour and respect that person and see the value in their thoughts no matter how different they are from our own.
When doing spiritual readings for my clients, I am often reminded by my spirit guides that I have done enough talking and that it is time to listen to the magical person who sits in front of me.
Each of us is like the ingredients in a fruit salad. One of us is the pineapple, one of us is the orange, one of us is the grape etc etc. When you mix the fruits together you have a unique taste which is a combination of sweet and sour. This taste is so much more delicious than the taste of the individual fruits. Let us all learn to savour our diversity of thoughts and feelings!!!!
